Getting to and from School

There are a number of convenient ways for students and families to travel to Gardeners Road Public School:

• Kiss and Go – Our school offers a Kiss and Go option for quick drop off and pick up. The gates are open from 8:30–9:00am each morning and 2:45–3:10pm each afternoon. Students using this service are released from class at 2:55pm. Please follow all signage to ensure safety.

• Public Transport – Several public bus routes stop within a short walk of the school along Gardeners Road and Botany Road, providing easy access for families who prefer to travel by bus. More information is available via the Transport for NSW Trip Planner.

• Park and Walk – Families also have the option to park in nearby streets and walk their child to school. The pedestrian gate on the corner of Botany Road and Gardeners Road is a convenient entry point for walkers and is it open from 8:30am-9:00am in the morning and from 2:50pm-3:10pm in the afternoon.

• Ride to School - Students are welcome to ride their bikes or scooters to Gardeners Road Public School. A bike rack is available inside the school grounds where students can securely place their bikes or scooters upon arrival.

  We encourage families to choose the option that best suits them, while always keeping safety in mind when travelling to and from school.

Kiss and Go

Our school offers a convenient Kiss and Go option for student drop off and pick up. The gates are open from 8:30am–9:00am each morning and 2:45pm–3:10pm each afternoon. Students using Kiss and Go are released from class at 2:55pm.

To access the zone, please head south on Botany Road, turn left onto Gardeners Road, and enter via the school driveway. For everyone’s safety, we ask that all families carefully follow the signs and directions in the Kiss and Go area.

Catching Public Transport

Our school is located on the corner of Gardeners Road and Botany Road. Students are reminded to disembark with care and cross roads only at designated crossings. Families and students can easily reach Gardeners Road Public School via several public bus services, with convenient nearby stops just a short walk from our school:

• Gardeners Rd near Botany Rd:

  • 358 (Sydenham ↔ Randwick loop)
  • 632E (to Randwick High Schools)
  • 655E (to Brigidine College Randwick)
  • 743E (to Marist College Pagewood)

• Botany Rd before Gardeners Rd:

  • 309 (Port Botany ↔ Redfern)
  • 310 (Botany ↔ Central/Railway Square)

• Gardeners Rd opposite Gardeners Road Public School:

  • 636E (Randwick High Schools to Gardeners & Botany Rds)

Park and Walk

The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.

When driving and parking near our school, please:

• ensure you park safely in school zones
• follow speed signs
• do not make U-turns or 3-point turns outside the school.

Riding to School

Students are welcome to ride their bikes or scooters to Gardeners Road Public School. A bike rack is available inside the school grounds where students can securely place their bikes or scooters upon arrival.

For everyone’s safety, we remind students that there is no riding of bikes or scooters once inside the school gates. Bikes and scooters should be walked through the grounds to the rack.

Riding to school is a healthy and active way to start the day, and we encourage families to discuss safe riding practices and road safety with their children.
